Odd Jobs for INFP's

While I was surfing the Internet, this title of article captured my attention. http://personalitycafe.com/infp-forum-idealists/34344-hourly-jobs-odd-jobs-infps-not-careers-3.html If I am not in full time career, these are some jobs which I could consider doing. :D

My INFP personality as a teacher

I was just curious about what other says in the topic of personality. I am a INFP. Before I venture into one-to-one tutoring, I was a classroom teacher. I always wonder why teaching in front of a big group (up to 40 students) was stressful for me. Later on, my sister introduced me to take a career survey called Career Direct. There then, it made me understand how I could play by my strength and that was how I ended up as a tutor. It is not just any tutor but one that teaches foreigners. Here are some points which I like about when researching the Internet about this topic. They truly explained my thought process when I was in secondary school. 1) Generally introverts are better at formal interaction with groups than they are with informal interaction, so can seem more extroverted or confident in a classroom setting where the roles are clearly defined and the students generally recognize your authority, and where you have already planned what you're going to say. Smaller classes...

Understanding My Feeling As a tutor

Image
This is a picture of a perspective from my vision when I sit at the coffee table, looking towards the open space in the company where I am currently giving tutoring. Every day I will arrive this place at 5.45 pm. I am standing as an outsider. Although I get the glimpse of the office each day, I won't say that I actually understand the nature of their work. I mean, I am one of the users of an online shopping website, but to understand the life of the programmer, his life is seen here in this office. I really cannot tell what they do by just looking at them looking at their monitors. My feeling was good today. I was high of hope and full of eagerness. During this time, I had turned to an idealist. I was dreaming away the moments when I teach, I feel cool and the student would understand every single thing I taught them. Then again, that expectation do not match with the expectation of the students. It turned out not idealistic anymore, instead I felt remorse then ...

I am living a dream.

I think I am in a dream. I really could not believe myself. What am I doing at this juncture of time? It is beyond my imagination. The road , since the day I left TFM until now, has been really good. Sometimes I think I don't deserve to be where I am. I mean I could be in the worse state but here I am, doing what I am doing, without anyone's help - tutoring Koreans and I am talking about adults here, not kids! I really asked God that why did he bless me with these students who have given me so much trust to be their teacher. I know that I should constantly be feeling confident about my job, but I do not want to take things for granted. There are many times when I prepare a well lesson plan. Then, there are also challenging times when trying to convey ideas using body language, hoping that he or she gets it. Occasionally, the inevitably boring topic makes teaching even more difficult because some elements could not be culturally expressed through language barrier. Sometimes, t...

Time, Money and Luxury

What's a luxury to you? Siting in the corner of Coffee Bean by the window, a cup of coffee and a continental breakfast is a luxury for me. I would sit here for hours enjoying my precious time and collecting my thoughts without distraction - that is a luxury. Someone once said to me , ' I work to pay for private time ... or to be alone and often having to go away from a place to find that space without paying like travelling or at the resort. I also worked hard in the office and in the midst of crowded people.' I think what he said is somewhat true. I used to be in that mindset when I was working full time in a corporate world. When I was doing something that I didn't mind doing but not necessary my interest, it is easy to feel that working becomes a jail of life. Now that I am working as a tutor, I earned enough to cover expenses like car installments, phone bills and food, I have quality time in my hands. I didn't believe at first that there was any job whi...

Mines: Big Bad Wolf

Today, there was an opportunity for me to join my sister and her family to Mines 2 for the book fair. I was not really excited about the fair. I was not keen on hoarding more old books with current transition. Since I moved out from KJ, I don't have a permanent space where I'd access my personal items. One thing special about this time is the time spent with sister. ``````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````

SEA Games 2015

Image
This year, it is my first time to watch SEA Games live! I have never followed the games before. Now, it is a new reason for me to be excited again about this year. This excitement balanced out the sadness of earthquake in Sabah. I saw Timor Leste marching through and it brought a nostalgic feeling of the time when I visited the country. Now, should I book a trip to Cambodia now? It is my goal to complete the ASEAN travel.

I love KL

Image
I think one hobby that I would really miss is making a random drive in the city center after rush hour. The night view and lightings are really beautiful. Working in TFM in Bukit Nanas was the reason I came to learn loving the city. A city I used to hate for its bustling sounds. This opportunity was a reward from offering a kind ride to my student back home after a late class. I was least expecting this view. Oh what a night to say good bye! # revisitplacesIfirststepfootin5yearsago

Farewell to June

Since I started filling in a new free written organizer called Passion Calendar, setting a focus for the month becomes a practice at the beginning of the month. It's always challenging for me to decide on the focus because I never seem to be satisfied with my answer. I am not certain because I know I don't like structuring my daily happenings into categories. But, I know it is important to capture into themes to make the year seem interesting to get by. Having learnt from May's focus, setting a focus on money is not a tangible goal. So, this time I tried focusing this month on motivation and favor. Last week sermon about God's favor changes my perspective on life since then. I never see it as 'favor' as humanly speaking - to ask to do something for someone. Favor's in God eyes means Him creating an opportunity for us and we would be blessed from it. So, this month's focus is about favor. I am still figuring out how to set motivation goal an...

Bangladesh favor!

Hmm...a peculiar thing happen this morning. Right after my tutoring in the morning, I decided to change my usual hangout place from Expresso Lab to Teh Tarik Place. Just as I walked in to the kopitiam place, someone bumped me from my left. When I turned my head, a Bangladesh was apologizing for his rudeness. After the incident, the course of my time there from 10.30 to 12 noon, I was delighted with his gestures of small talk and kindness. I was not aware that he was trying to court me with gestures like serving me napkin when I had not even finish my thosai telur, flashing smiles every time our eyes connect, intervals of interuption out of curiosity in the work I do, and the final gesture was taking off my cham coffee order from the bill. I left the place with a smile on my face because a Monday was filled with such favor. I knew his intention. I wonder why I was not feeling uncomfortable about it. The only thing that I was not comfortable is myself because I am forever bound to th...
